How we write our guides
Who writes Silver Corridor's guides, where the information comes from, what the guides are and are not, and how to report a correction.
Who writes them
Guides are written and updated by the Silver Corridor editorial team. Some began as posts on the Silver Corridor store blog and have since been revised to the standards on this page.
Our guides are not currently reviewed by a doctor, therapist or other clinician. If a qualified professional reviews a guide in future, we will name them and their qualifications on that guide.
Where the information comes from
We use public sources from government health agencies and other authoritative organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, MedlinePlus, the National Institute on Aging, Medicare and the Administration for Community Living. Guides that rely on these sources list them at the end, with the date we last checked them.
What our guides are, and are not
- They are general information to help you ask better questions. They are not medical, legal or financial advice.
- We do not test products hands-on, and we do not rank products or providers.
- We recommend professional advice where it matters, for example a physical or occupational therapist for mobility equipment and transfers, or a licensed contractor for installation.
- We avoid promising results. No product prevents every fall or guarantees relief.
- For emergencies we say so plainly: if you think someone is having a medical emergency, call 911.
Products and commercial relationships
Some guides link to products sold in the Silver Corridor store. Those links do not change what we write. We do not currently have any affiliate or referral agreements; if that changes, we will say so next to the relevant link. See our affiliate and referral disclosure.
Dates
“Published” is when a guide first appeared on Silver Corridor, including the former store blog. “Updated” is the last time its content changed. Where a guide lists sources, we also show the date we last checked them.
Corrections
If you spot something that is wrong or out of date, please tell us. We review reported errors and update the guide when a correction is needed.
