Before you buy

A few measurements and conversations now can prevent the most common regrets: a chair that won’t fit the car, or a scooter too wide for the hallway.

Read the full checklist
  1. Measure the narrowest doorway and any tight turns at home.
  2. Measure your car boot opening and floor space.
  3. Decide who will lift it, and check the heaviest piece.
  4. Plan where it will be stored and charged.
  5. Think about the surfaces you’ll cover: carpet, pavement, grass or gravel.
  6. Ask a therapist about seating and posture if you’ll use it for long periods.

How do I know which type of mobility aid is right?

Start with where you want to go, how far, and how the equipment will travel. Our scooter vs. power wheelchair guide walks through the differences. For seating, posture or transfer concerns, ask a physical or occupational therapist.

Who delivers and supports these products?

Once supplier agreements are in place, each product page will show the delivery, setup, warranty and returns terms that apply. The products currently shown are demonstrations.

Does Medicare cover scooters or power wheelchairs?

Medicare Part B may cover power mobility devices when strict conditions are met, including a face-to-face exam, a written order and an enrolled supplier. Read our guide for families and confirm coverage before buying.

Can I try before I buy?

Trial options depend on the supplier. When the store launches, any available trial or return window will be stated on the product page and in the returns policy.
